National Teachers Associates Life Insurance Company (NTA Life) is a growing insurance company in the North Dallas (Addison) area that specializes in providing supplemental health insurance primarily to teachers and public sector employees. We are currently looking for an Applications Programmer/Analyst to join our team. This position will plan, develop, test, and document IBM ISeries RPG Free programs, applying knowledge of development techniques and multi-platform computer systems. Evaluate user requests for new or modified business solutions. Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify solution objectives. Formulate plans outlining steps required to develop ISeries systems using structured analysis/design. Develop, run, and test system code. Analyze and test printouts and system screens. Assist users in solving operation problems. Provide technical assistance to program users.

• Advanced expertise with IBM ISeries.
• Advanced RPG Free, CLP and SQL programming skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent people skills.
• Basic level knowledge of PC-to-AS400 communication skills.
• Advanced analytical skills.
• Advanced business understanding of the insurance industry.
• Documentation skills.
• Bachelor of Science degree or related experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience with IBM ISeries systems.

• Knowledge of health or life insurance industry

Starting salary will vary based upon the candidate's education, salary history, and relevant work experience.
