NTA LIFE REACHES OUT TO COMMUNITY,
TAKES STEPS FOR KOMEN

race team

Dallas, Texas, October 18th, 2011 — NTA Life, national supplemental insurance provider, based in Dallas, Texas, fielded a team of 46 home office staff, agents, and their families to walk in the 2011 Susan G. Komen Dallas Race for the Cure© on Saturday, October 15th, 2011. They joined the more than 22,000 participants and over 900 teams in the 2011 Dallas race which raised in excess of $2 million dollars. The company fundraising effort amounted to more than $6,200 which was raised through fun events, personal contributions, and employer matching; the company gave dollar-for-dollar on every gift given.

"Our company slogan is 'We Care.'" says President of the NTA Agencies Brian Ellard. "While that slogan is applied to our business practices and the way we treat our customers and employees, that also means that 'we care' about important health-related causes such as Susan G. Komen. It was an effort that the entire company rallied around and offered everyone the opportunity to give back."

Ellard was among the employees on race day, cheering everyone on and trying to keep the pack together which proved difficult with thousands of racers bunched in on the route. He generously chartered a bus for the NTA Life team to take to and from the NorthPark Center back to company headquarters in Addison. This allowed everyone to get to the race on time and avoid the parking that is so problematic on race day.

The company hosted some employee "Fun"draising events during the weeks leading up to last Saturday. Those included selling Coke and root beer floats from the company break room which was converted into a 1950's-style soda shop, complete with music and soda jerkers. There was also a south-of-the-border-themed breakfast taco sale and a raffle for a coveted extra vacation day credit. In all, these events raised over $1,000 and made giving to the cause that much more fun.

Overall, NTA Life considered the campaign a success. Almost 25 percent of the home office staff volunteered their time for race day and many more contributed and raised funds for Komen for the Cure©. The company campaign coordinator, Patti Stewart, summed it up best, "We just want to show the community and others that, at NTA Life, we care."
